According to the related export statistics from 2018 White Paper on Industrial Development of China Toy and Juvenile Products released by China Toy & Juvenile Products Association (CTJPA), China's export of juvenile products still shows optimistic trend, with a total baby stroller export of US$3.755 billion in 2017, an increase of 15.4% from the prior year, of which Zhejiang, Guangdong and Jiangsu ranked the top three in the stroller export. The quality and safety of the widely concerned juvenile products never fade out from public attention. On the contrary, importing countries, in particular the European Union, are exerting increasingly stricter supervision on chemicals. Statistics show that from 2005 up to 25 April 2018, there have been 112 cases of chemical recalls related to juvenile products, mainly caused by cadmium, lead, azo dye, phthalate, PAH and flame retardant.

Juvenile products to be exported to the EU need to comply with relevant regulatory requirements of EU, such as REACH and Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) to ensure that the chemicals and products made and placed in the EU market will not cause any harm to human health or environment.
