You can use the CB test report, or just apply for certification directly. Documents needed are in the following:
1, application list;
2, Copy for the CB test certification( not required for direct application).
3, Copy for the CB test report( not required for direct application).
4, Samples.
5, Others: related test results and product data, such as: product manual, photo, list of components, etc.
(If you use the CB test report, differential testing is required)
Difference between UL and ETL certification:

Both UL and ETL represent the product has passed the NRTL test, and matches the related safety STD. So the difference between them is at the service. As a customer to the ETL, you can enjoy the individually tailored testing, inspection and certification service, the operating time would be shorter and work method would be flexible. We are creating new working method to cooperate with our customer more closely and to make customers’ products go in to market faster, smoother and more efficient.  Both ETL and UL certification have the same level in entering the North American market, but cost of ETL certification is much lower than UL certification, and normally about half of the price. The ETL certification product inspection can be transferred from the CB test report, and this can save you a lot of test cost.

Time for ETL certification is much shorter than the UL certification. You can be issued ETL certificate first and do the factory inspection second when in special time, and this can saving you valuable time for products exporting
